Part Order Form
How to correctly request a part and properly maintain the form
Adding an Item to the Part Order Form
Make sure you are on the proper tab
This should be the first sheet you are on when loading up the form. Here you will be adding and reviewing your order.
The sheet you are on is highlighted as shown here. Make sure your Google Sheets page looks like this when adding parts.
Populate as many tabs as possible
The header on top of the sheet lets you know what information needs to go where, more detailed descriptions are provided below.
How to add information
It is preferred that you copy and paste as much information as possible as you negate the risk of misspelling words. However, when you copy something, you also copy the formatting which can result in entries looking like this after pasting:

To prevent this, instead of pasting with Ctrl + v , use Ctrl + Shift + v . You can also paste normally but instead click the clipboard dropdown:

and select Paste values only

Name of Part
This should be the descriptive name. On many sites such as amazon, marketing and other miscellaneous words are used to boost the click through rates of products and only serve to pollute our document if kept in. An example how to trim a part name is bellow:

Here, the part name should be Jeremywell Roller Chain Puller Holder
Part Number/SKU/UPC
The part number, SKU (stock keeping unit), or UPC (universal product code) is the identifier of the product in a vendor's inventory. If you do not put this information on the part order form, the vendor might rename the product and we may not be able to fulfill your order.
This information is usually listed around the name of the part and should be easy to find.
Good practice: Using the UPC is preferred as it is consistent across retailers.
Note: Some vendors like Amazon typically don't have a SKU associated with parts as they are a fulfillment service and don't make a majority of the products they sell. Some of the resellers on these sites do provide a SKU and a brand name, so if you can write those down in the Part Description column that would be great.
Vendor/Link
This is self explanatory. If possible, hyper link the the product page to the name of the vendor.
There are multiple ways to hyper link in Google Sheets--I am just providing one example:
Type in the name of the vendor and highlight the text
Press
Ctrl + k
Past in your link and hit
Apply
There are premade formats for vendor names. If you do not use these you will break our record keeping system. Please use the following names for vendors:
Vex
Amazon
AndyMark
Best Buy
McMaster-Carr
CTRE
Harbor Freight
WCP
Travers
Grainger
Home Depot
Grizzly
If the vendor you want to order from is not on the list, please notify the team captain.
